Coprosma brunnea is a native NZ ground cover growing in lowlands to higher montane river beds, open grassland and rocky places. It has flexible brown stems forming a tangled mass with narrow, sparse leaves. Very small flowers develop from August to October and amazing bright blue berries in autumn. This species trims well in a home garden or sprawls over banks and swales.
