This is a small to medium-sized tree whose trunk and upper limbs are usually spirally fluted, particularly in younger trees. Its natural habitat is on plains or diffuse valleys, growing on sandy loams or clay loams, often in pure stands. The smooth, copper-coloured bark makes it a highly ornamental eucalypt. It is considered useful for poles, fence posts, minor building and the grain makes the wood attractive for furniture. A good choice for home gardens and landscaping.
