This seed is collected in Waikato NZ from wild populations of naturally occurring Leptospermum scoparium in an area were honey is harvested with high levels of MGO (Methylglyoxal), DHA (dihydroxyacetone) The Manuka from this area is an unnamed variety of Leptospermum scoparium. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eMGO (Methylglyoxal) Scientific research has now proven that the naturally occurring compound methylglyoxal is what gives Manuka honey its unique Antibacterial Activity.
